Tape extensions are part of the hair extensions family. Hailed as the quickest, easiest and most cost-effective way to increase length, volume and create colour changes in all different hair types! Here at Franck Provost Manly we proudly use Seamless 1 tape hair extensions. Here we take a look at some of our favourite celebrity hair extension wearers and discuss how we love to use extensions on our clients in the salon!
Have you ever looked at celebrities and wondered how they manage to change up their hair look so fast? How can they have a short bob haircut one day and the next they are rocking natural-looking long tumbling waves that are halfway down their backs? Well, we’ll let you into a little secret…. Just because they are celebrities does not mean they were born with a gloriously thick mane of hair….It’s extensions! We’re just gonna put it right out there and say it – almost every celebrity wears or has worn some extensions in their hair at some point to make their hair appear fuller, achieve a quick colour change or to try a cheeky new fringe without any of the commitment!

Use extensions to create length
The original and still most popular reason for using hair extensions! If you’re craving longer hair but yours just won’t grow or you don’t have the patience to wait for it to grow then a set of tape hair extensions can provide you with the length you need in as little as 45 minutes. Generally, when increasing the length of your hair it’s important to note that extensions should only be used to double your natural hair length at the most to maintain a natural, blended look – So if you have hair that is 10 inches long, we can make it up to 20 inches long in a flash with tape extensions!
Use extensions to add volume
Lots of people are perfectly happy with the length of their hair but have fine or limp hair. They long for that bouncy, thick, voluminous hair that we see on countless celebrities. With tape extensions that celebrity hair volume is achievable in record time. Adding volume with tape extensions is much quicker than adding length as tapes are used as more of an addition as opposed to a replacement to your own hair and thus there is less need for major cutting and blending once applied.
Use extensions to change your colour
Making big colour changes to your hair can be costly, time-consuming, damaging or unachievable altogether on some occasions. Using tape extensions to add or enhance colour to your hair is a useful way to bypass the length of time and potential damage caused by relentless colouring. We love to add pre balayage tapes to dark hair for a dramatic effect in minutes that would generally take several salon visits to achieve with classic colouring techniques.
Filling in
Sometimes less is more! We love to add one or two tape hairpieces into selected areas of the hair for some subtle ‘in-filling’. This is a great way to make a gappy fringe look fuller or to strengthen the sides of your hair where it can often look a bit piecy of finer hair types. As we’re only working with a couple wefts of hair the maintenance and upkeep is super easy and hassle-free!
