Nanoplasty is a professional hair straightening and deep repair treatment that works at the molecular level – penetrating the hair shaft to deposit amino acids, collagen, vitamins and organic acids directly into the hair’s cortex.
Unlike traditional keratin treatments that coat the hair’s surface, nanoplasty works from within – rebuilding damaged hair while delivering long-lasting smoothness and shine.
The result: straighter, stronger, shinier hair that lasts up to 8 months.
It’s a newer generation of treatment that replaces older smoothing methods with a safer, more nourishing approach.
Sydney’s coastal climate creates specific challenges for hair: humidity off the harbour and beaches, UV damage from year-round sun, salt water and chlorine from ocean and pool swimming. These are exactly the conditions nanoplasty is built for.
At Franck Provost, our Sydney stylists understand the local environment. We tailor every treatment to your hair history, lifestyle and suburb – whether you’re surfing at Bondi, commuting through the CBD or navigating North Shore humidity.

Most keratin treatments last 3–5 months. Nanoplasty lasts 6–8 months – and in many cases up to 10 months. Fewer treatments per year, more time enjoying smooth hair.
No harsh fumes. No eye irritation. No strong chemical smell. Nanoplasty uses organic acids and natural proteins that are safe for you and your stylist – a major reason health-conscious clients are making the switch.
Nanoplasty doesn’t just straighten – it actively repairs. Amino acids and collagen fill in damaged areas of the hair shaft, making hair feel thicker and stronger after each treatment. If your hair has been weakened by bleach, heat or colour, nanoplasty rebuilds it from the inside out.
Because nanoplasty completely smooths the cuticle and infuses nutrients, hair reflects light differently. The shine is immediate and unmistakable – think the best hair commercial you’ve ever seen.
Nanoplasty is compatible with colour-treated, highlighted and bleached hair. However, due to its deep penetration into the hair fibre, it can slightly shift or soften the hair colour depending on the level of porosity. For this reason, we usually recommend doing colour services after a nanoplasty treatment for best results.
Sydney summers are no match for nanoplasty. Whether you’re heading to Manly Beach or stepping off the train at Central, your hair stays controlled. No frizz halo. No reversion to curl.
After nanoplasty, many clients can air-dry to a relatively smooth result. Blow-drying becomes a quick task, not a battle. Many Franck Provost clients report saving 30–60 minutes from their morning routine.

The short version: Nanoplasty is the evolved, more nourishing version of keratin. Longer-lasting, more penetrating, gentler on health.
Nanoplasty works across a wide range of hair types and lifestyles. It’s especially well-suited for:
By hair type:
By lifestyle:
Who might prefer keratin instead: If you love switching between curly and straight styles, nanoplasty’s long-lasting straightening effect may not suit your flexibility needs. A milder keratin that fades in 3–4 months could be a better fit. We’ll help you decide.
We start by assessing your curl pattern, hair condition and history – bleach, colour, chemical treatments, swimming habits. We set realistic expectations for your specific hair, so there are no surprises.
Once your appointment is booked, you will receive a text message 24 hours prior asking you to arrive with freshly washed hair (shampooed twice and conditioned with your usual care).
As nanoplasty differs from traditional keratin treatments, there is no need to open the cuticle with a clarifying shampoo. In fact, this is not recommended as it can lead to a dry result. For optimal results, the hair should be properly conditioned.
Do not apply any leave-in products, as they can create a barrier and prevent the treatment from penetrating the hair effectively.
We apply the nanoplasty formula section by section from roots to ends. Processing time is typically 45–90 minutes. The smell is mild – a slight caramel vanilla scent, far from the harsh fumes of traditional keratin.
Rinse
We fully rinse out the product after processing. By this point the active ingredients have penetrated the hair shaft.
This is where the transformation happens. We flat iron small sections at precisely calibrated heat settings for your hair type. Resistant curly hair may need more passes; bleached hair requires a gentler approach. You’ll see the result in real time – strands becoming glass-smooth and glossy.
Your hair will be immediately, dramatically different. Sleek, weightless and shiny. For many clients, it’s an emotional moment – especially those who have battled with their hair for years.
Before you leave, we go through your personalised aftercare routine. Unlike old-school keratin, there’s no strict 3-day waiting period – you can wash your hair the next day and tie it up immediately.
Total appointment time: Approximately 3–4 hours. Up to 5 hours for very long or very thick hair.
Sulphates and Sodium strip the treatment from the hair. Switch to a sulphate-free, sodium-chloride-free shampoo and your results will last significantly longer. Ask your stylist for a recommendation at your appointment.
Aim for 2–3 days between washes. On off days, dry shampoo at the roots keeps hair feeling fresh.
Rinse your hair with clean water before swimming. Apply a leave-in or protective product afterwards. If you swim regularly – ocean or pool – let your stylist know before treatment so they can tailor and aftercare plan.
These are too stripping. If you have hard water at home (common in parts of Sydney), consider a shower filter.
A weekly hair mask keeps your hair hydrated as the treatment matures. Your hair will already look great, but moisture maintenance makes sure it stays that way.
After a month or two, if ends start to turn slightly flicky, a single pass on medium heat re-seals them. Always use a heat protectant. This doesn’t damage your hair – it actually reinforces the treatment.
Specialist-trained stylists. Nanoplasty is not a standard service – it requires specific training. Our Sydney stylists have hands-on experience with all hair types, from fine highlighted hair to very thick, resistant curls. We adjust technique, heat and timing to your hair, not a template.
Premium, clean formulas. We use only formaldehyde-free, high-quality nanoplasty products that meet our standards for both safety and performance. We’ve tested multiple brands to find the ones that deliver the best outcome for Sydney hair : AR Cosmetics.
Personalised service. No two clients get exactly the same treatment. We tailor the technique, processing time and aftercare plan to your hair history, colour, lifestyle and goals.

How long does a nanoplasty appointment take? Most appointments take 3–4 hours. Very long or very thick hair may take up to 5 hours. We give you a time estimate during your consultation so you can plan your day.
Can nanoplasty straighten very curly hair? Yes – in most cases up to 90–100% straight. Even tight coils can become smooth and sleek. Extremely resistant hair may retain a slight wave, but frizz will be completely eliminated. We’ll tell you what to expect for your specific curl pattern during your consultation.
I had a keratin 3 months ago – can I get nanoplasty now? Yes. Three months is the ideal point to transition. The remaining keratin in your hair won’t interfere negatively. Most clients who make the switch don’t go back.
Can I colour or bleach my hair after nanoplasty? We recommend allowing 2 weeks between lightening services and nanoplasty, and 1 week for single process colour and toner.
Routine root touch-ups can be done on the same day. The hair will need to be washed, dried, and then coloured, which can make the overall service quite long.
If possible, we recommend completing major lightening before nanoplasty for the best outcome.
How much does nanoplasty cost at Franck Provost? Pricing ranges from approximately $399 to $650 depending on hair length, thickness and salon location. We provide an exact quote after assessing your hair during consultation – before any commitment. Given that results last up to twice as long as keratin, the cost per month of results is highly competitive.
Can I go to the beach after nanoplasty? Yes , but we recommend washing your hair at least once before going into salty water. As seawater contains sodium, repeated exposure can reduce the lifespan of your treatment.
Make sure to use our UVA/UVB AR Cosmetics protector to help protect your hair and maintain your results.
Is there a waiting period before I can wash my hair? Unlike older keratin treatments, nanoplasty has no strict waiting period. You can wash your hair the next day and tie it up immediately after leaving the salon.
Ready for smoother, healthier, easier hair – for up to 8 months?
